I recently purchased a 2500HD 6.6 Turbo Max. I had an after market exhaust, AFE, installed. After installation my engine light came on (steady). I unhooked the batteries to recent the computer but the engine light after a short distance turned back on. So many rumors I have heard on how to fix. So you know my "kitty" was removed.

My questions are: Will the truck go into safe mode if the light remains on?
How do I check the codes (i.e., turn ignition on 5 times) ?
How do I turn off the engine indicator and fix the problem?
