I know that the "elevated" idle can be turned on by the DIC. I am curious if EFI Live can turn on the "High" idle that can be controlled by the cruise control buttons. When I bought my truck I was told that this feature has to be special ordered, it can't just be activated by the Tech II. I didn't believe the dealer, so I researched and found the tech bulletin that stated the same thing. Does anybody know why this is?

Not sure if this is the same thing or not... But my old truck had three option for locking the doors, in gear, when driving or not at all. In 06 they took away the not at all option. I was told they can not add it. Then, I was told we can just shut it off, but then you can switch it. Finally a tech looked into it & found that they could inable it if the owner wanted it on there. I now can switch between all three. Oh, I ice fish & take my kids on the ice with me & the truck. What would happen would be I would stop at the bait store & then the truck would lock again. I was just worried about not being able to bail if I needed to. In case anybody was wondering why a person would want that option. Maybe the same case for you. For a good tech & maybe they could make it work for you.

I don't have the uf3 option and was curious if there is anyway to activate that option. I don't understand how GM would make two different computers, depending on what option got ordered. It seems like the program would be locked in every trucks computer but just isn't activated. My brother is a GM Tech and we tried, with the Tech II, to enable it but couldn't find any way to get it done.
This is the bulletin I found.

I wonder if there is actually any hardware involved as well. But from the looks of the PDF file i would say the changes are in the BCM which EFILive cannot connect too or make make changes. It can only access the ECM.
