I have a 1996 f-350 7.3 turbo 5 sp. I am getting dust/dirt past my air cleaner/air box twords the turbo. I know this is detramental fir the turbo but i was reading before i signed up to post and someone was letting people know about a napa air filter and using some abs drain pipe and just a little machining on a fitting to make a more sealed air inlet. the filter is a round and long type but i need more info. i have 242,000 miles on this truck and it has the upgraded hold down bolts on the airbox not the original kind used that were plastic. the air cleaner is a napa paper and i clean it often i am in a very dry area with dust. i have not replaced the filter in like 1 year because it looks clean with no holes in it.looks new. any help would be appreciated. also how many miles can i go roughly before a rebuild. i am 2nd owner and it is a farm truck 10% towing 90% daily driver?
