: Centerline 20's and Michelins
GMONEY 11-02-2008, 05:12 PM Ordered a set of centerline forged wheels and michelin at/2's from discount tire and got them put on a couple of days ago. Here's the specs 20x8.5 with a +12mm offset and the tires are 285/55-20. They do rub a bit at full lock but I still have some turns left on the torsion bars. They only rub on the back side of the wheelwells. I may need to trim the inside corner of the wheelwells to stop the rubbing completely. Anyone else have to cut the fenders? Here's some pics.:)
Xsta Z 28 11-25-2008, 12:32 PM I'm toying with getting the 8 Ball in 20" x 8.5" . . . hmm m m m
Xsta Z 28 11-26-2008, 04:52 PM I also assume you ment the +32 mm offset . . .
GMONEY 11-26-2008, 06:58 PM Negative, I ordered them through discount tire with a +12mm offset.
Nathan Muthler 11-26-2008, 07:09 PM Money, Ive got the twin truck to yours. Just pull the fenderwells back and zip tie them. move the e brake cable behind the driver side rear and zip it to the body mount. drill a small hole in the center bottom of the front and zip it to the tube shaped bracket under the bumper. Gave me a good 2 inches of room. took about 15 minutes.
GMONEY 11-28-2008, 09:46 AM Thanks, but I'm hitting the bottom of the metal front fender too when I turn sharply, like into the driveway.
XTINCT 11-28-2008, 09:58 AM Wow that really looks good to me.
chevyman_2000 11-28-2008, 11:06 PM I have had 2 sets of Centerlines. AMAZING Rims. ordering these for the 2500. cant decided in a 18X9 or a 20X10 for a 35" tire. will prob go with a 18X9 though

Xsta Z 28 11-29-2008, 03:52 PM Negative, I ordered them through discount tire with a +12mm offset.
Hmm, thanks for the info . . . wierd . . . Centerline doesn't even advertise a 12MM offset . . . just 6MM and 32MM . . . so confusing . .
Looks good!

I have those on my 07 classic in 17x9...love them..
Nathan Muthler 11-29-2008, 07:04 PM Money, I trimmed the back of the fender also. Just tape off what you want to remove and cut it off with an angle grinder. The fender shield covers it up. I felt sick after trimming my new 40 thousand dollar truck, but you cant even tell. I know right where youre rubbing I had the same issue. youll be able to move the fender liner back into where that extra metal is. Mine looked like a small triangle when I trimmed it off.

u got any pics of them? I would love to see them on a truck!
One bad one..lol...sorry for the hat, it was in a local parade pullin a float.lol...
I have my winter rims on there now, i should take better pics....
Here is another poor pic...lol...i should take some better ones straight on from the side, remind me in the spring when they go back on...lol...
chevyman_2000 11-29-2008, 10:08 PM hmmm I'll be totally honest. I thought they'd look alot better than that on a truck :S
Maybe in a 20 on a 36" tire
I think they need more rubber, I have 265/70/17s on those rims...maybe in the spring i will try some 285's...
chevyman_2000 11-29-2008, 10:13 PM also just noticed the Candian flag hat... Nice touch. am I whoring this post?
It was for our local Canada day parade...lol...

Nice taste in wheels! Here are my 20" Eclipses w/ bfg's.
GMONEY 11-30-2008, 11:08 AM Thanks Dustin I copied you! I did cut the front fender with the grinder a couple of days ago and then molded the plastic inner fender with a heat gun. Everything seems fine now. Discount tire called centerline directly to order the rims and they told them the two choices were a +12 or a +30 offset and they would have to make them. Centerlines website doesn't seem to up to date as it still shows new for "2007" and the wheels they are selling are overstock, possibly they don't make the +6 offset anymore?
dustinbriq 11-30-2008, 01:21 PM That is weird. They look to fit exactly the same.

Both yourz and GMONEY look proper on the GMT-900 body.. Pair's very well with the body lines and style cue's.. Solid choice my Dmax brothaz.
1dieselsteve 12-05-2008, 11:30 AM Im Also Thinking About Putting Bigger Tires On My Ride. Going With 18x9 With Michelin A/2 275/65r18 Does Anybody Know If I Have To Make Any Adjustment Or Trimming? Dicount Tire Said I Won't Have Too. What Is Your Opinion Or Experience.
Supa Dexta 12-19-2008, 10:15 AM Not to step on toes, but the tires look sort of puny to me in the original post. According to the tire calculator a 285/70/17 would be near a 275/60/20... So if I level, would that size be good and look half decent? I figure with something like a BFG AT, being a square tire, it should fill the space decently.
GMONEY 12-20-2008, 10:15 AM That tire should fit fine with no rubbing or trimming 32.1" approximately, you could go up to a 33" tire on the classic without much trouble.
Nathan Muthler 12-20-2008, 08:23 PM money's right about the old bodies. I had 33's on my old one with just turning th t bars up. I could only stuff a 285/75/16 on my 08. Oh well time to lift it I guess.
