are you in canada dude ??
I have a duramax '08 and Im getting 18 l /100 km towing a 20 foot trailer loaded on flat roads but Im driving at 100 kph that helps and Im reving below 2000 rpm the more you'll be close to 1500 rpm it will help a lot your mpg
Im getting 600 km plus per tank (115 liters) while towing
I do have a 34 gallon tank but I dont wait till its empty
I put also diesel conditioner in the tank at each fill
I run synthetic everywhere too.
Love this truck !!
Here in Quebec It's cold the morning it drops to 0 degrees celcius so I plug it
Another thing I cut all the idle when Im at the docks of my clients
I do have a transport company
take a look at my garage pics
I also get 14.5 mpg I live in chicago
