Anybody have a reasonable source for the methanol required to make biodiesel? Would also like to know if anyone is using the sulfuric acid method.

For me, methanol was more expensive/g than store bought biodiesel. guybb3 03-22-2005, 06:40 AM That was the problem I have been seeing mannytranny. I am going to head to home depot and see what they are selling it for. You have to use about 20% methanol per volume of vegetable oil to convert, so if it's too expensive I might as well just buy the finished product. On the methanex website methanol is currently 95 cents a gallon but that is for thousands of gallons I believe. Thanks for all the input guys and when I find the best price available for all of us I will post the location and numbers back here. | ||
