HI, I have a 98 K2500 with the 6.5L in it. I am making up my own cold air intake and was wondering if I have to run the my blow by tube back to the turbo intake side or not? Also the plastic peice that runs from the turbo intake tube and curves around to the front of the motor is that needed also? What exactly is that used for? Thank you.

You don't have to run that tube into the intake. There are other options.

Do a search on CDR. Read the FAQ's.

It would be wise to retain the CDR valve that it's connected to though.

The other tube that you refer to is only a silencer. Removing does no harm.

I think the plastic tube is a resonator used to quiet the turbo down. I think from reading other posts on the subject, everyone here would tell you to keep the blowby tube. I am also thinking of making up my own cold air intake. I'm currently measuring to see if I can use three 97 style paper air filters at once, thereby getting the best filtering with the least restriction. If I can make it work I'll be happy to show everybody how it comes out.

I am making my Cold air intake out of PVC piping. I Bought 2 90 degree elbows that are 3 inch I am going to take rubber hosing that is 3 inch and hook put that on the turbo and connect 1 of the 90's and hopefully that will put my K&N filter right behind the battery. I was looking and on ebay there is something similar to this but is just made out of a different material than PVC and it's 125 bucks. I figured I could spend about 70 including the filter and make my own. The PVC piping should be find to use for intake shouldn't it? thanks for your quick replys.
