I traded in a ford 5000 gasser for my new 7040. It will be my primary tractor for my green bean and sweet corn harvesters. It's like driving a caddy compared to my old ford. Gotta get some front weights and fill the rear tires and it will be set. Not sure I like the idea of egr on a tractor, but are ya going to do.

Hey that looks like a nice ride.
I would have preferred cab and front wheel assist. But I paid 17,900 for a tractor that listed at 26,900. They have been sitting on it since feb, and really wanted to move it. So if it rains and I need more power and traction I will have to go with this.

Stove,
Sounds like a good deal on your 7040. We have a 5 year old L4630 with 4WD & front end oader but no cab. Use it for a mix of grounds work, small plot tillage, bush-hogging and excavation with the FEL. Great machine.
Let us know how your 7040 works out.

kubota 7040
We have a L270 kubota that has been on the farm since the late 70's. It has had 2 water pumps, injectors, 2 injector line and that is it. Hell I'm not sure if they ever changed the oil before I got older!
It it a real nice tractor, I like not having a tranny hump between my legs, lots of leg room.

we've got over 9000 acres of farm land, and in saskachewan you really need to pick stones. this 7610 with dry weights is perfect for stone picker, v-ditcher, or snow blower, 13x90 transfer auger. at 120 hp its pretty handy. we also have a newholland bi-directional tv-140. if you've never seen one, you should google them, they are awesome, but a bobcat is better for more delicate work. have been following this site for well over 2 years and thought i might as well make my first post.
