What is the best programmer out there for the 06 LLY? I've been told that alot of guys love the edge programmers, but banks is also right up there with them. I wanna get one when I go home on midtour leave, but I am still undecided as to which one, I will probably install it myself. Any suggestions are much appreciated.

You just looking for some extra power? If your going to the extreme: PPE or EFILive. If you want some extra power, edge would be good, or a downloader.

If you want an all-in-one package, get one of the Edge units. The Juice with Attitude and the Evolution both have great power and features. I think most people end up with the J/A because it has adjustability on the fly. If you just want a programmer, I suggest going with PPE. They have several different level tuners, the most popular being the Standard. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

I have the PPE Xcelerator. I was looking at the Edge and the place I bought my PPE from said the shift on the fly is a "nice" feature but didnt recommend it due to it just "adjusting" the computer inputs instead of actually reprograming it. That and they said that PPE originally started with the Chevy's for their R&D so thats what they have the most experience in.

There are 5 stages you can program. I didnt notice any difference on stage 1 but did notice a difference in power in stage 2. Thats what I drive around in now. I'm thinking about testing stage 3 but dont want to go any higher than that until I get some gauges installed.

Having owned just about every programmer for my 06 LBZ, I can say I am happiest on the 160 hp tune from PPE. It runs good, not to much for a stock tranny, I am seeing 2 mpg increase in MPG's as of my last fill up, it reads and clears DTC's, adjusts tire size, shuts off the EGR and can be upgraded to a hot tuner when you decide to build the tranny.

If you want gauges, the absolute best unit is the Edge Evolution, great power, all in one unit with alerts that warn you of being above your pre-set limits and can read and clear codes while your driving down the road.

Let me know if I can help.

I would say go with the Banks economind (ottomind) if you do not want smoke. If you want smoke go with the Edge Juice with attiude.

If you don't have a bunch of upgrades (Trans, duel pumps ECT.) And you want to stay cheep i like the predator. If you are buying for the future EFI-Live V2.

Just my .02

Thanx a bunch guys, I'm not getting it til' I get back from Iraq so it's gonna be a minute. Thanx for all the info, I will most likely go with PPE because they have the best track record with Chevy that I've seen so far.

Good choice. Then after a little while you could upgrade to EFI Live if you wanted to. But i would only go with the PPE if i didnt have EFI Live IMO
