When I'm in traffic, say going 40 mph, and I let off, and accel, I have an annoying clunck or free play. Is this normal with the LLY/Allison. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Mine does it too (sucks) worse at low speeds like at an intersection when you don't come to a complete stop then need to accelerate. Doesn't matter so much at higher speed. Would a 2wd have no/little freeplay?

Is your 04 lb7 or lly, did see a post or two when the 04.5 (lly) 's came out they thought there was more play in driveline than their earlier model trucks. Have Driven a crew cab D\A 2500 lly 4wd was similar to mine

Interesting that some don't do it. I can still feel the freeplay/lash at say 50-60 mph, doesn't really matter but at low speeds (lower gears) driving through intersections etc it is very uncomfortable and annoying. Had a 2600 odd lb load in the bed one day - no difference. So don't think it is much to do with spring windup - unwind. I realise diff transfer case and auto need to have some lash but seems excessive. My truck has very low miles on it. I can improve it by trying to accelerate after overrun very smoothly (bit hard with touchy throttle). Bit better after LLY reflash. Or by power braking it.
Thanks for your input.
