ok..been researching about gauges...prosport gauges, what do you think of it vs. auto meter? How are the elctronic gauges vs. mechanical on our trucks refering to the boost gauge.

Boost gauges... I see gauges out there that have psi from 0-35 and 0-60, which one would be suitable..and some gauges that have vac/psi, from what i hear, our trucks dont produce vaccume. right? reason why i ask is cause there is an auto meter gauge i like to get but it has a vac function with it. will it still work or do i have to get the 0-35/60 psi???

EGT...Do i get a o-1600 or a 0-2000 reading gauge???

thanks in advance guys

I have auto meter guages and i love them! If you end up doing any big power additions, then get the 0-60 gauge. Stock i have hit 35psi. When i hit 1600 i get a little worried. Most people have the 1600 gauge. Hitting 2000 is crazy. :)

I would do a 0-60 psi boost pressure. With a mild tuner you can surpass 35psi, even know that does you know good on a stock charger.

I would also do the 0-1600 pyro, unless you are pulling or racing. If you see 2000, there are some issues if its a daily driver.

I'm running the 0-60 boost and 0-2000 pyro, I spike to 34 psi and settle on 32 psi, the pyro gets to about 1750 in a race, on the street it rairly goes over 1300.

I've got autometer z-series and have been happy with them. My boost guage is 35psi, I run the predator on 85hp tune around town and use the tow tune when I'm pulling. I've never seen it above 30psi. But I don't beat it on it either,I plan on having this truck a long time. The pyro goes to 1600 but I haven't had it go above 1200 . Even towing the 8k trailer through the mountains to Yellowstone last year it stayed between 1100-1200 at the peak temp.

Well your EGT is going to be electric no matter what, as far as boost, look at it this way. Electric there is another part that can fail and that being the boost sensor that sends the signal to the gauge itself. Or with the mechanical you just run a small dia. plastic tube from the port for boost to the back of the gauge.

So to be honest it really comes down to personal pref. The electric will be easier to install as only wires have to be routed, but you have the extra sensor that can fail.

With mechanical you have to route the tube and get a good seal on both ends to get accurate boost readings.

So both have their +'s and -'s. really comes down to ease of install, and price(for me, price). So to answer your question one is not better then the other.

I have Auto-Meter Cobalt and love them. Went with 0 to 60 and 0 to 2000.

I agree, 2000 deg pyro and 60 psi boost. Get the mechanical boost, no need for the electronic.
