My used truck came with a Tekonsha Voyager brake controller. The previous owner had used "Scotch Locks" and crimp connectors to connect the wiring. As I was sorting out all of the other "problems" with the truck, I decided to re-do the wiring correctly (soldering the wires). I was able to get the information from Tekonsha's website, to verify that the wires were going to the correct locations. My question is: Should there be any lights on the unit illuminated, or do they only come on after a trailer is attached? I'm looking for an enclosed trailer, and if/when I find one that I want, I want to be able to stop the thing.

My light (Green) only comes on when the controller is plugged in to may tow unit.

Thanks. When no lights lit up I re-checked all of my wiring, then thought that you might need to have a trailer hooked up to it. Thanks for confirming.
