: NBSU switch problem

My nbsu switch went out and just replaced it. Now truck wont start. I was careful not to pop out of neutral or misalign the new switch. She wont even turn over now, like it is not in park. All my indicator lights now work, and the only problem I had was that the two connections were frozen and took a lot to get off. Can anyone help me out with this?

I use a heat gun to get them off so I don't brake the plug.Check your plugs for broken wires.

OK, checked all wires, cannot find any broken ones. Does anyone know where I can get a wiring schematic for the connections that plug into the NSBU? I need to somehow do a continuity test. It really seems to me that the truck does not recognize it is in Park.

Did you try starting it in neutral or in all the gears?

Yup, just tried it. Nothing. I am starting to get a little frustrated. Would jumpering the park/start switch wires be worth the effort?

Unplug the connectors and plug then into the old switch. Try it. If not stick a driver in the middle and hunt for park. If you still have no luck, you must have damaged the connectors/wires as mentioned before.

Clear the codes first.

How do I clear the codes? Nothing new happened with the old switch, none of the shift indicator lights came on, and still would not start. I am going to start looking for park. Does anyone know what letter the wire is to save me a little time. I am guessing it is the yellow wire, but a schematic would be nice.

You could try disconnecting the batteries for a few minutes.

Need info about your truck for a diagram.

I'll bet the yellow wire is not making good contact.
