for the most part, i just picked up about 100gal myself. i ran it in my truck a while back and picked up 2-3 mpg and a smoother running engine.

I answered this question once and nearly got my head taken off.
So, someone else can answer that part - although I know the answer.

Anyhow, LEGALLY, it is a non-taxed fuel, therefore, not able to run on the road with it. Let's put it this way, if you put clean heating oil in your Duramax it will run just fine... If you get some pulled out of a old 275 gallon tank or the like, I would be filtering, and water separating...

Yes it will run, but remember there are more BTUs per gal of heating oil than diesel fuel. I would mix them prob 70/30 oil & fuel. Not sure what to do if you are running some tunes on your truck. I would not run it hard until you find out the difference in btu content. Maybe some others on here have had experence running tunes & a higher btu fuel & will chime in. I"m not sure if the ecm will adjust injection time for a hotter burning fuel. I would think your EGTs would increase some. I run propane injection on mine.

#2 home heating oil and #2 diesel are the same thing.

#1 or kerosene is lighter.
