Does anyone know anything about the harness for the steering wheel controls. I want to use the ONStar button for something else :cool_shad. For example if I wanted the press of the ONStar button to say, momentarily activate a remote solenoid for say, 12-14 seconds..
Can it be done??

It won't work. There are 2 wires that go to the controls from the BCM. One is the supply voltage and the other is the signal or ground. Each button has a different resistor. When pressed, the buttons send a unique signal to the BCM.

Yes it can be done...it will be much easier to use the DIC buttons though as they are on different circuits. You could wire in relays to them. You could also use your radio controls to do all kinds of stuff. You'd need to run the audio remote wire to a relay so you could switch it from regular position to after-market. Now to control everything you can use a PAC SWI-X and the receiver end of a Painless wiring steering wheel control...There may be other ways too, this was just off the top of my head, but it CAN be done and while from what I hear, Burners wire is small and short, you truck's DIC wires are long and skinny.......
