: Manual Fuel ANd Boost Control.
Cirrus2 10-27-2008, 06:35 PM I recently found a site that sells a kit where you can turn up fuel and boost with 2 separate knobs. I want to know your opinions on the setup.
A question for MODs, can I post just a picture of the setup and a bit of info, this is not a product that I myself am selling or have even tried I just want some feedback.
RCpullerdude 10-27-2008, 06:49 PM Sounds like Steaky to me. Didn't he have some kind of super fuel turner-upper that tapped into the PMD resistor or something?
jifaire 10-27-2008, 07:06 PM Uh, does the site name contain the words bizhosting.com? Sure, post some info for us to look at.
Cirrus2 10-27-2008, 08:03 PM Yeah it is a .biz
Cirrus2 10-27-2008, 08:06 PM Key Benefits:
*
The first boost controller for the 6.5TD with NO cut, NO splice, "plug & play" design, Documents on these design features have been filed with the US PATENT OFFICE.
*
Easy to adjust by turning knob on dash from the comfort of inside the cab, NO NEED TO LIFT HOOD TO ADJUST
*
Once set to 'max' it can be left alone, or adjust further as desired
*
Boost can be raised to levels up to 12 to 15+ psi or more...
*
In case EGTs [exhaust gas temperatures] ever become high, or to reduce boost if driving at higher altitudes, the boost can easily be reduced by just turning the knob, from the safety and comfort of inside the truck. Computer chips do not offer this adjustability, and underhood units do not offer the convenience or safety, there is no need to pull over, stop and open the hood to deal with parts near hot engine areas.
*
Can be used with aftermarket performance 'chips' or 'programming' if desired. We have tested with many aftermarket "chips".
*
Added power due to added airflow
*
Added economy as engine does not work as hard to attain a speed.
*
NO cutting or splicing the factory engine wiring harness
*
NO soldering
*
NO replacement of factory parts
*
NO alteration of factory controls
*
NO need to even open hood to adjust.
*
OEM [original equipment manufacturer] quality and compatible weather resistant connectors.
*
OEM style wire loom, looks just like a factory setup.
*
Very easy to install with only basic tools, if any, mostly 'plug and play'.
*
Original Custom design features.
*
Can be mounted in dash or by using under dash mounting bracket.
*
Easily reverts back to stock
*
Underhood harness quickly removes, if desired, for when bringing vehicle in for service or if you loan the truck out.
*
Designed specifically for the GM 6.5L EFI Turbo Diesel. http://i38.tinypic.com/2qsp6cy.jpg
Cirrus2 10-27-2008, 08:08 PM It's basically the same for the fuel adjustment. What do you guys think?
steiner43511 10-27-2008, 08:16 PM don't get me wrong, I love A1 on my steaks, but not on my 6.5

ROFL... run away fast, amigo... you have found the one... the only... steaksauce! The king of the rip-off artists.
The "fuel controller" doesn't work, and even if it did, you would realize only a minimal gain in fuel output. What it does is mimic the fuel calibration resistor, which you can look up yourself on here... about the most you could ever gain is +4mm3 of fuel per 1000 strokes... not enough to get excited about. Add to that the fact you would need to shut your truck off and re-start in order for the PCM to relearn the new value, and it's just a PITA.
The "boost controller" is a non-taper POT that fits into your MAP circuit. Adjusting the POT fools your PCm into thinking it is reading less boost than is really present, which in turn calls for more boost. You can make the same thing for about $10 at any RadioShack... directions are on here, somewhere... search is your friend.
If you get a chip, it will do both. Steaky doesn't sell chips, because he can't build them in his mother's basement and besides, programming chips is less efficient as a rip-off method than selling home-made gizmos that don't work.
jifaire 10-27-2008, 08:25 PM Send him email and ask him to send you a copy of the patent documents he says he filed... should be good for a laugh.
Cirrus2 10-27-2008, 08:26 PM That's a damn shame, good thing I didn't order!
Joey D 10-27-2008, 08:29 PM If you do talk with him tell him I said hello and I am waiting on my court date he promised to see me at.
ercaduceus 10-28-2008, 02:44 AM I have no personal experience in this matter. But how does the guy stay in business after pissing off everyone? I've read some older posts on this and other sites, some not even 6.5 related. Seems like an (for lack of a better description) an interesting person.
IamDave0887 10-28-2008, 07:15 AM :rotflmao: steaky's still out there trying? i've read anything i could find on this guy. there's something seriously wrong with him. but anyways. its a good thing you didn't order from him.
my favorite part was when no one supported him, he would create other IDs and support himself. :rotflmao:
bk95td 10-29-2008, 02:31 PM I've looked at his web site. He must be a politicion.Untrue claims, badmouth the competition, and full of BS. His posts on here were comical they were so far out there. No real place of business is a real clue to what type of business he runs.I won't do business with any co. that doesn't give their adress and a phone number. I don't like any kind of sause on my steak. Is there still a possie?
daustin 10-29-2008, 02:51 PM LOL If you want manual boost/fuel control grab a turbo-master and a DB2 pump. lol
