I was wondering if the vin licenses are interchangable between Efi live programs. Heres why I ask my buddy has efi live and i would like to buy it soon but i was wondering that if I bought a vin license if we can tune my truck with his efi live then I can tune it with the same vin license when I get efi live.

No, once you tune your truck with his interface, you'd have to re-license your ECM to your interface. Although, you get two new licenses with the new interface, so if you bought one for his, then licensed your v2 to your ECM, either of you could flash the ECM.

My tuner tuned my truck for me, then a couple weeks later I bought my own EFI live V2. I had to use one of my 2 licenses on my truck, then both me and my tuner could tune it.

The Vins are stored in the cable from the EFILive to the port on the OBII connector on the vechicle.
