I put a high idle switch in my truck today as per Kennedy’s instruction for the 94-95. It doesn’t change my idle at all. I wanted the high idle to warm the truck up quicker on cold mornings. I have check the new switch and confirmed that I have power all the way to the pin in the connector I put in the A6 location. Does anyone have any ideas why this mod doesn’t work on my truck.

Don't take this as being rude, but you are sure you put the terminal in the correct connector, right? IIRC 2 of the 3 connectors use Ax and Bx for their terminal locations.

Thank you Benjamin you are not being rude at all. I feel like such an idiot now. I went back out and looked at the connector to the PCM again and sure enough I plugged it into the wrong location. I had it in the B side of the connector not the A side. Thank god it didn’t hurt anything. Problem solved. Thanks again.
Schwind,
Where did you purchase/find the spade connector that slides into the PCM? I have heard stories about people a) cutting them from a used PCM harness, b) buying them at the dealership, and c) using a non-PCM spade connector that fits into the wire slot.
Thanks.

I went to a junk yard yesterday and cut one out of a truck there. I had to go get a few other items so I got the pin as well. The yard has quite a few 6.5’s. He even has a few with manual IP’s. 92-93 complete trucks.

Too bad I'm not closer, I'd scope out a short block.

Does the pin have to come from a 6.5? Or can I go to any vehicle and get one? Any idea?

The truck I cut mine out of was a 95 6.5. I think as long as the donor truck is around the same year that any PCM/ECM pin will work (even a gasser). Maybe someone else with the knowledge will chime in. I used a very small jewelers screw driver to unhook the pin clip (like for eye glasses) or take a small paper clip with you.

He had a couple of the motors in his shop marked runs as is. Supposably they were running when he got them in. he wanted $2000 each for them.

The pins are a standard thing - take 'em out of just about anything you can find. When I made my high-idle, my local dealer sold me about 10 of them for about $1 or $2.
