I thought that Navistar was to buy the medium duty line, be in charge of everthing, and GM sells and services through their dealerships.
the latest issue of diesel world talks of some other deal that i don't understand/am not aware of.
Is GM still the owners of the medium duty line, or did the sale go through?

They are still the owners. Now they are talking to Isuzu about selling.

It was actually Navistar who let there option to purchase expire. GM wants out and needs the cash. The need the money to do the deal and acquire Chrysler:crazy::crazy::duh::duh::think::think:.

So GM was ready and willing to sell, but navistar never went through with it?
So now they are thinking of selling their stake in izuzu to generate cash?
I am still relieved that the medium division is still soley owned by, and built by general motors, i was upset when i learned of the possible sellout.

Yes Navistar said that with the ailing economy they chose to let there option to buy expire.
Nothing much has been said about the Isuzu deal.
My money is on GM will dump the med duty truck unit, they simply need cash and its a line like Hummer that is not a core product. Plus from what I have read they have nothing in development to replace the current truck and there is no plans for anything to start.

this is like the construction line, heavy duty line, HD engine and tranny line, etc.
many good things have been sold off.
