I wanna put some nice paint on my frame, does anyone have a good way to remove all that greasy/waxie mess?

I used a power washer when I did mine and it came off pretty good, otherwise I just sanded and used a putty knife to get it off.

Thanks guys I figured steam cleaner would do the trick. I wonder if something like simple green would take off all the leftover residue?

Simple green won't remove the wax. I spray simple green on my coating to clean it and just spray it off and the coating is still all there. I've heard transmission fluid or power steering fluid will eat it right off but I don't know if I'd want to use it all over the truck.

diesel fuel will take it off without elbow greese.

You might try Easy-Off oven cleaner, but don't get any on you!

I just painted the frame, springs, etc.. w/ semi-gloss, no prep, nothing. It's not show nice, but it actually comes out decent (on a new truck anyways). Spray is cheap, I'll just hit it every spring, maybe wire brush first if it gets crusty.

That's an understatement.
Diesel will literally melt it in front of your eyes... no touching needed. Don't know how environmentally friendly that route would be however.
