Getting ready to buy a set of Billsteins shocks the yellow ones, will they fit my stock 2004 3500 4X4 dual rear wheels? Or do I need some kind of extension on the fronts? I have read the shocks are shorter than stock shocks.

I don't think so, unless you crank the T-bars a lot. That said, and I don't remember why exactly (maybe they ARE too short?!?) but I put a few small washers to space the front shocks down a little (but very little, like 1/4"), using yellow/blue Bilsteins.
The fronts are the same, but remember that the 3500's take different shocks in the rear than then 2500HD (based on what I remember from 2 years ago).

The Yellow bilsteins are OE replacement length. The OE shocks are made specificaly short to limit travel or whatever they were thinking I don't know. My preference is to add a simple 1/2" shaft spacer to these units. It seems to help with stress on the lowwer bushings, particularly when on a hoist etc.

Cool when ever you are ready. Also look at the Sulastic to improve the rear ride of the truck.
