I want to upgrade my air intake system to an AFE or K&N. In doing this does it void my 100000 mile warranty? Does it effect the warranty in any way?

There is some GM bulletin regarding aftermarket/oil type air filters in that they can cause MAF sensor problems but I doubt it will VOID your warranty. It's on here somewhere ...forget where.

As always any aftermarket part raises eyebrows and I personally would make every attempt to return truck to dealer with stock parts when possible to alleviate any potential problem ...should the day come I need to visit the dealer.

It also seems to vary from dealer to dealer ...

Speaking of warranties, tonight I saw a local dealer had a new GMC Duramax on display for sale at a Salem, Oregon shopping center. It had many modifications to the running gear including a fairly radical lift kit, and larger tires and wheels. It seems strange that the dealer can do this kind of modification even before selling the truck. PS: Hi Tophog!

Don't think you would have any trouble as long as the filter manufactures advertises there filter is equal to or exceeds the OERM. I think the OEDM filter is hard to beat for filtering, Baldwin comes second in my list. A lot of those after market filters are good for high performance but usually when you get high performance you sacfrafice filtering action. My opiion.
