I ordered a set of Michelin 275-70-18's to replace the junk 265-65-18 Bridgestones that came on my 1/2 ton gasser. I also ordered a set of MB Shaker 18x8.5 chrome wheels.
Shopped around a little and Discount Tire was by far the best price. Total package with lifetime balancing and free replacement road hazard warranty $1983.29. Not too bad I thought. The same tires were at walmart for 30.00 more per tire(270.00). I also get a 100 dollar rebate for signing up for their credit card.
Now these tires are 1.5'' bigger diameter than the stock 265's also 0.5'' wider and the rims are 0.5'' wider. They said they won't rub ,will they?

Got them installed last night . They rub a tiny bit with wheels turned all the way. I need to modify my mudflaps and pull the front part of the plastic on the inner fender back a little or cut it.
Otherwise they look killer :thumb:and ride real nice and quiet. I will get some pics this weekend and post them.

I just put a set of 285/65/18's on and I'm happy. I had the BF's on before and really didn't have any complaints but, these are quiet and I'm getting better gas mileage. Not as aggressive looking and don't fill up the wheel well as much but, I was thinking better fuel mileage all the way.

I've run Michelin's on all of my Chevy vehicles and I don't think there is a better tire out there. I have LTX on the truck now and the next set I want to0 put on A/t-2's

I guess I spoke to soon ....I only drove the truck about 5 miles since they were installed and after driving it all day for work today they rub a little more than I would like.
On my way home this afternoon I stopped at a very reputable 4x4 shop to see about a small lift kit.
I am dropping it off tommorrow morning at 8:30 to have him install a BDS 2'' leveling kit in front and some bigger lift blocks and BDS shocks in the rear to raise the rear 2'' also. He has all the parts in stock.
With an alignment the total will be around 650.00.
I think this is a good deal and he said it would be done at 5:00.
What do you guys think?

Picked it up tonight and I am very happy . I measured before and after and ended up with a full 2'' lift in front and 2.25'' in the rear. No more rub. Truck sits 3.25'' higher altogether including tires.
The best part is it probably rides better now than when it was new.
Total tally today was 780.00 , a hundred more than he quoted me because he didn't include new rear shocks, Total for the lift and wheels and tires 2760.00.
I'll put some pics up tomorrow
