How it the heck do you get ahold of the Kickdown linkage to un hook it from the injection Pump?

I found out I have to take the tranny in to have a bushing put back in and I cannot get ahold of the linkage due to all the crap in the way and the fact that the linkage is under the manifold. I tried cycling the linkage but I still cannot get ahold of enough of it to do any good.

Any sugestions short of taking the manifold off?

I am assuming you have a 700r4. There is a metal rod that goes from the injection pump linkage to the end of the TV cable. There is a plastic piece that will unsnap and allow you to remove the TV cable. Grab a hold of the metal rod with a pair of pliers or needle nose vise grips. With your fingers push the plastic end of the TV cable towards the injection pump while holding the rod from moving. It is a snap fit. The metal rod has a round button and the platic end slips over it and snaps into place. Hope this helps.:grd:
