: GMPP warranty question
bluewater 23t 10-17-2008, 12:38 PM Anybody know,
I live in Florida, and for whatever reason, dealers here are not allowed to discount the GMPP price.
Can i still buy it out of state (at a discount) for my Florida truck and be covered???
thanks alot.

Try this, they are in PA, but generally they have some of the lowest GMPP prices I have found.
yes, you can buy a GMPP warranty from any GM dealership/outlet in the US and it must be honored by all GM dealers.
John4598 10-18-2008, 12:04 AM I just ordered an extended warranty from Black Pontiac Cadillac for my 06. (www.gmoutlet.com (http://www.gmoutlet.com)) I will let you know how it turns out as I haven't received my extended warranty policy yet. Great price and beat local and other internet sites.

HossLanier 10-21-2008, 10:08 AM Just make sure it is GMPP, not something they say is "as good as" GMPP.
and yes. EVERY GM dealer HAS to take GMPP, unless owner neglect.

Thanks Guys- I did visit their site, and was planning on buying from them, but my dealer told me I had to buy from him or someone else in Fla......doh! guess not.

I think your dealer is FOS! However, maybe FL has some bogus state law that allows them to hold you for ransom, although I would be surprised if it does.
Good luck, but I'd check into that "you have to buy in FL" statement before I committed to them.
bluewater 23t 10-23-2008, 09:28 AM I did check- my dealer was full of it- apparantly, many folks over the years were getting screwed on extended warranties (for anything), so the state cracked down and said ONLY msrp- can't charge over, or no discounts either- but having to buy in Fla was a crock. Heck, I even looked to buy my truck out of state......
HossLanier 10-23-2008, 12:00 PM all GM dealerships sell GMPP, make sure GMPP Major Guard is the best on the market, bar none. Where ever you buy your truck is where you need to buy your GMPP, include it in your note and it seems alot cheaper, but well worth the money.

He's just trying to get you to buy it from him. He's also lying about being able to discount it. I'd call him on it and then find another dealer.
