I stumbled upon this thread from early 2006. Thought it was funny in a cool way to see where this forum section got its start. Theres a lot of other good olldddd "high performance" threads as well.

I wish there were more like this in today's threads. Seems like nothing but highschool fights anymore.

I had forgotten that thread long ago, but I will repeat today just what I said back then. At power levels above 500 RwHp you had better be thinking about replacing the rods. Kind of funny to see who was doing it back then and who's not around doing it. I'm sure things will change more in the future but the past has proven just what we said was going to happen back then. The only issue now is were beyond 1300 Hp and wondering where its going to stop. At some point I know the block is going to break into pieces just for the forces being applied when we run at these levels today.

yep I chuckled at that too, back then no one beleived you in that rods were a necessity. "for a street and strip weekend race truck your dont need rods at all" :D
the fact that yes they can be shortened with a single CP3 and big turbo is pretty silly...

To think that was only 2-3 years ago, makes you wonder where we will be in another 2-3 years :muahaha:

I've got another good one... What about a certain 9 second, 1000HP truck that was breaking Allison's because of "poor tuning".
