No idea, if no tuner on your truck and you got a Clean exhaust message, if shouldn't cost you anything. Dealer can hook it up to the Tech2 and force it to regen to clean the dpf. Otherwise, only way I know to fix the clean exhaust message is to get rid of the DPF with a new exhaust and tuner, can get this for around $700. If you have a tuner and dpf still intact, you'll be spending a whole lot more $$ if the dealer does it's job of scanning your ECM and sends the info to GM. Which, I'm pretty sure, GM would want on any DPF failure. Chris

Borrow someones Stealth 2 in your area and do a manual regen yourself if needed. This is the same thing that is done at the dealer.

Also, depending on how bad the filter is the clean exhaust filter message can be taken care of by getting on the highway and maintaining over 30mph for 20-30 minutes, it will regen itself and the message will go out.

It is important to get on the road and never slow down or stop. It is best at 50-70mph and use the cruise.

I just got the "Clean Exhaust Filter" message on my DIC on my 2008 6.6L Duramax Sierra. I can try to to regenerate the filter by driving the truck - But, I have read that the truck can go into a low power mode (limp mode) when the "Clean Exhaust Filter" message is displayed. Does anyone know if this is the case, and if it is, can the exhaust filter be regenerated at the reduced speed caused by the reduced power mode? Also. I have read (here) that getting water splashed up into the engine area can also cause the same DIC message. The truck was idling, and I washed some beach sand off of the running boards, and it is possible that some water spay may have splashed up into the engine compartment and or onto the exhaust system. The truck is in Hatteras Village, NC and the closest dealership is 75 miles north in Kitty Hawk NC. I appreciate any and all responses.
thanks
