Took the wife's new SUB to Auto Zone and found out that P0440 code is being set--something to do with Evap Emission Control System Malfunction??

Can anyone help with diagnosing the problem?

The most common thing I see is the gas cap being loose. If that's not it then there is a leak in the evap system somwhere. A smoke machine is used to find the leaks.

Also, if you have an aftermarket gas cap, a lot of times they will not seal right and set the code. Had a lot of problems with people putting the locking caps on and the code setting.

Thanks for the help. Do you recommend any locking gas caps specifically or stay OEM? Do you know where to buy?

I am not real sure on an aftermarket cap. You do know they are really easy to get off right? Might keep a honest thief out.
