So the past 2 days for work I have got the pleasure of driving 2 almost brand new 26' penske trucks. One was a GMC C7500 with a Cat C7 and Allison tranny. The other was an International somethin or other ha with a Maxxforce DT466 and Allison tranny. Even though both trucks were gutless I'd honestly have to give the International the win on the trucks. Not only did the DT out accelerate the C7, but the International seems to be built to a higher quality than the GMC. So my personal preference goes to the IH. It actually feels like a big truck. It drives alot smoother and was just an easier drive. By the way me and my co-worker drag raced both trucks. The DT blew the C7 out of the water. 0-60 in like 52 seconds I believe what the C7 ran. Terrible ha.

The newer IH 466's with an allison are very quick. I agree the C7's are gutless. The Freightliners with a mercedes and allison are also quick.

I work for a Rosenbauer fire truck dealer and one of our most popular models is built on the International Workstar. I love them. Tough as nails and plenty powerful.

i agree that C7's suck, the one nice thing bout cat in general if ur a tech, is that they are always leaking oil and broken. lol IMHO the new Cummins is the way to go with all of this new emissions bs
