Got to thinking on the way to work today, as I was being passed on both sides on a single lane road. Ya it's a MA thing. Where you live when two lanes merge into one and then end in an off ramp a 1/4 mile up the road you probably form a single lane and breeze onto the ramp. In MA when the sign says form single lane and the lines end - it means total free for all. First one to the ramp wins. Bonus points if you use the dirt or grass to get there. Double points if you go 2 wide on the ramp.

The commute home is almost as fun. It's just reverse. Had one try to drive under the back of my old truck last month, on the ramp, he was fighting for possition with guy next to him. Crunched the nose of his car, only took the dirt of my bumper. Then a few miles up the road the 3 lane highway comes to a halt - bumper to bumper. Pay careful attention here in case you ever visit MA. When this happens the blacktop on the right side between solid white line and dirt ( you may know it as the brake down or emergenct lane) this becomes the I'm too special to sit in traffic lane. There is no speed limit in the special people lane, god help the poor guy that actually brakes down. Every once in a while a trooper will sit over a blind hill and he'll have a row of 20-30 cars lines up waiting for their tickets. But makes no difference, same thing next day.

Enough ranting- as I was thinking, my LLY doesn't make any smoke. It would be great if I could make it blow clouds of black smoke (on command), add enough extra fuel and it might even spit some black napome (sp) type substance. Hit it just as a "special person" was blasting by. Would be even better in the summer when their windows were down. Anyone got any ideas? Need to be able to do it stuck in traffic (truck not moving or very slow). So punching it is out. Gotta be a simple way to do it.

Go with the Edge Juice and Attitude. You can adjust the low boost fueling to blow clouds of black smoke, not to mention the increased get up and go...

Don't want to burst your bubble but the Juice/Attitude won't blow smoke when its just sitting there. You have to put a load on the motor so that it dumps fuel to spool up the turbo.

OK, so I didn't read it that closely. And my bubble isn't burst. ;)

p.s. you can get a little smoke if you hammer it and it is in neutral, but nothing like under load from a stop or passing. :exactly:

After you get your Nictane installed I would think that a T in the line feeding a solenoid valve which, in turn, leads to a tap in the exhaust would do the trick. A pushbutton on the dash to open the solenoid should provide a pretty good cloud. I've thought about it. Has anybody tried it? Downsides (other than pollution, tickets, karma, etc.)?

I drive 495 for 35 miles twice a day and pass right by Billerica. I feel your pain. 4 years ago when I came to MA from WY I was sure I was going to die on the interstate. My first day here I got passed (on the right) by one of the "special people" in the breakdown lane. The Jack AZZ was doing close to 100 mph.

Screw the black smoke option! I want one of those setups they have on attack helicopters where the gun points wherever the driver is looking.

freddyo - What are the "HD torsion bars"? In all the posts I've never seen a torsion bar upgrade?

HSS for short. Flew attack helicopters for 20 years. Still have my helmet and trying to figure out how to mount the 20mm on my truck along with rocket pods. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/muahaha.gif For those slow left lane people.

Off topic but...

They are the torsion bars that you would get if you ordered your rig with the snowplow package.

Stupid me, now I see your sig. You have a standard cab. In an EC or CC the plow package doesn't change the tprsion bars t they all come 4800. Was hoping you found something heavier than the 4800
