thanx. truck is not running yet but killing time w/ small projects.
Schwind 10-15-2008, 06:03 PM The white box with the QUA on it is your VSSB (vehicle speed sensor buffer). It turns the electrical pulses from the trans sensors into digital signals that the PCM can read. This one must be on your 96 my truck is OBD-I and only has one plug plugged into it. As far as the cut wire I haven’t a clue. I also have the extra black plug there as well and nothing is plugged into it either. The soleniods are for your climate control, a/c, heat, fan/blower controls and venting.

sorry, i wasn't thinking. this is all off my 93 w/ OBD1. don't know why i was thinking it was OBD2. brain gas?
the QUA is on the 93, so do you think the other plug is for the cruise?
thanx for the answers.

My truck has cruise and that plug is not used.
jbsaxman 10-16-2008, 06:03 PM Schwind, I wonder, though, if it's different because you have a 94 with Elect. IP and his signature has a 93 which would have a mechanical IP.
Just a thought.

Anything is possible!!! :D His PCM is also turned 90* from the one in my truck as well. My plugs are on the side not in the front.
deejaaa 10-16-2008, 10:30 PM guess they were using old stock on the newer trucks.
now the only question left is what is that black plug under the dash..............
outalne94z71 10-16-2008, 10:46 PM looks like the plug that goes into the cold air door motor that is right behind the hand in the picture, i wonder if it had the common problem of it slapping the door repeatedly when the ignition is first turned on that that system is prone to doing and someone disconnected the motor instead of replacing it
i just went down in the garage and looked at my 94 gasser cab laying on the floor and that is the right type of plug for those heater actuator motors so id bet that is the one for the fresh air door

well I can't answer that. I haven't a clue. like i said mine is empty (not plugged to anything) too. Maybe someone else can chime in with the answer. mine is 2wd, just a guess maybe for the 4wd.

thanx Schwind (http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/member.php?u=86936), you've helped so much.
outalne94z71, i will look into that, thanx
deejaaa 10-17-2008, 04:00 PM looked at it and that's where it went(heater actuator motor). when i get it running(hope to look at it Sun) i'll see if that will be a prob(slapping the door repeatedly) and if it is i'll know where to stop it. if it is does the motor just need replacing? looks like a PITA to me.

Guess I need to look and see why mine is unplugged as well. That was for the fresh air door in the climate control right?
