I had a problem today. I was cruising down the highway at about 80 today and the engine sputtered quick and then the MIL came on abd the truck lost ALL power. I coasted to the side and came to a stop. As soon as the wheels stopped rolling the truck died. I tried to restart it but it wouldn't start. I pulled the key out and waited until the fuel pump shut off and tried again. It started.
I got out my Actron code reader and it read 21 DTC's. I scrolled through all of the codes and erased them. I shut the truck off and restarted it. The MIL went off and I was able to drive home OK. It is too dark to check the oil, I will do it in the morning.
Is there something major wrong? I am stock 2005 D/A 4X4 with 18,000 miles.
Here are the DTC's I got:
P0201
P0202
P0203
P0204

Well, if it starts back up and runs good, with no excessive smoke, it sounds electrical in nature. I believe those are all injector electrical codes IIRC.
It is unlikely to hurt the engine, but having the motor die unexpectly is a severe safety issue.
Take it in.
PS - You typed in the codes twice.

I think those readers run the codes twice, once for each side.... But I am not sure.

ive had the same thing happen to me.i was pulling a trailer and lost all power, pulled over, shut it off and pulled key, looked under the hood nothing looked wrong.got back in started it up and drove like a new one.the next day was driving with same trailer and it started cutting out like a gas truck with bad plugs.changed the fuel filter no problems since then

The codes were listed twice on the reader. This is the first time it repeated any codes.
I have changed the fuel filter 3 times on this truck so far (about every 6000 miles). It has run rough before and I thought it was from the fuel. Sometimes when I accelerate in 5th gear the engine will "knock" or stutter. If I turn it off then back on it will clear up the problem.

those are all injector codes so I would think whatever is controlling them has failed or is going bad. I would for sure take this in just as someone said, for safety reasons.

Take it into the dealer for a checkout. Insist on talking to the tech. Don't rely on the service writer to explain your problem to the tech for you because it will undoubtedly come out different from what you originally said.

i took my truck to dealer on monday with overheating complaint and told him about my truck shutting off pulling trailer.it had the same injector codes you have and they told me that they only was this would happen is if i disconnected the injector harness.they said it looked like all the injectors failed all at once.they told me they didnt do anything to my truck but check the codes, but when i got back suddenly the fuel mileage is up 1.5 mpg and my truck dosent overheat on hills anymore.also i no longer have the smell of raw fuel out of the tailpipe.on another note before my exhaust pipe has that purple look metal gets when its been really hot.wtf.i dont know

appears that you had received a reflash for the overheating issue and it will also take care of the mpgs. Some have seen a little increase in mpgs with the reflash.

sideswiper..what year is your rig? wondering if there is a new flash out there than the 3129B that I last heard/had. Can you check your paperwork and see if it is on there?
And also... yes go directly to the deisel mechanic when you ask questions.. the service guy up front is what I call a "yes man"...he agrees and says it can be done, but doesn't really know.
