Crafty1 hit the nail on the head. Roller bearing between P1 and P2 planetary gears came apart and lunched both of those planetary gears:( Good news is that the two filters did a good job of keeping trash out of the valve body and pump:) All of this with less than 80,000 on the clock. I really hate the idea of putting it back together with another torington bearing. Is there an alternative to the torringtons? Looks like I am going to need two new planetary gears. If any one has got some good used ones I am very interested. Thanks for all your help so far

thats like asking "is there an alternative to putting pistons in my engine" ;)
It was a failure of a defective part, it was destined to happen from the moment it was built. Did the shop that tore it down make note of which way the torrington bearing came out? If it was installed upside down, it will fail pre-matruely. Ive heard of more than a few guys build their own allison's and make this fatal mistake because they look almost the same on both sides.

I tore it down myself and it was in there the correct way, just came apart. The reason I asked for an alternative to the roller bearing is that in my race tranny I use brass or plastic washers and not the torrington. I realize that these trannys have a little more pressure than my race tranny, it only runs at 210 pounds. I think these are around 260 or so? I talked to a couple tranny guys and they said that every now and then they get a bad run of bearings, hopefully it wont happen again.

They are not supposed to be 2 piece. LOL

Yep looks just like that only half of my rollers are missing and they are imbedded in the planetary gears:(

Is a part of the bearing, if its still there Black ? New ones have ink marks on them. No issues with those.
