Very interesting:)

First, I must assume that the 4.5 is a very quiet and smooth engine to be even considered for the caddy:cool:

I'm all for auto makers offering as many diesels as possible....... I'm just wondering if the general buying market will accept a luxury brand car with a truck engine in it.

Personally I think the 4.5 would do better in the hummer 2 & 3 ..... would make those vehicles a lot more PC.

This article is false. 2.9 L VM Diesel from Italy.

2.9 is for european consumers. the caddy here should be getting the 4.5. I may sell my truck, regrettably and buy the 4.5 if it works out. 25 mpg would be great for a truck.

think GM will attempt to market in as many platforms as possible, using Cadillac CTS will draw favor and attention, that will help recoup funds invested. GM bought Daimler-Chrysler holdings in VMMotori which mfgr's engines for Mercruiser(marketed as Cummins). GM better make sure everbody in supply/manufacturering path understands, any screw-up's, they might as well go home because i don't think GM will be able to do business anymore.
