Took my '03 2500HD (30K miles) to the dealer for a couple of warranty items. One of the things was to have the seal replaced around the rear diff cover. Didn't really care that it was seeping a bit, just wanted some new grape juice free since I was taking it in anyway. Service writer calls and tells me that the service manager won't replace the seal because it will only seep worse! What the hell? I don't recall reading that the GM warranty covers everything but the diff cover.

Anybody else run into this?

Tell em to fix it and you will continue to bring it in till they can get it to quit leaking. Or you will find another dealer after you fill out a sh!tty review and call GM. I would be a bit irate with service like that. BS, complete BS.

Dog'em. It's unfortunate today that in many situations you gotta be a prick to deal with a bunch of pricks. Really refreshing when you run across a business that totally stands behind their product and takes care of the obligations that are come with the goods sold. Call GM and raise the roof if the run-around continues.

I'd call BS on this one - I R&R'd my rear diff cover to inspect the interior after noticing paint blistered on the rear cover (everything was fine). It has not leaked a drop since. Of course, I did it in my garage lying on a creeper so perhaps my quality control was better than what's achievable in a fully equiped dealership shop... I would absolutely insist on having it fixed.

Good luck!
