I've been cursing like a sailor for the last half hour.

So my rig developed a coolant leak in the last week. I traced it back to the passenger side of the thermostat crossover. No biggie, I'll pull it off, clean up the gasket material real good, slap some new gaskets on and be good to go.

So I did just that, except that the least was worse that it was before. So I get new gaskets and pull it apart tonight. I pull it off, and what do I find? Somehow the @!$##$% inner bolt "ear" was busted off. !@#$%$#@#$.

I am PISSED. I don't know how it busted. There's nothing by that side that could have gotten under it. It went on just as easily as it has the last few times I took it off.

NOT HAPPY!

/end rant.

Do you think that the original leak was cause by the ear cracking, and it merely broke through when you changed the gasket?
I could probably find a coolant crossover for cheap if you want. There is a Pick-N-Pull type place nearby that has a few 6.5s. Shipping would take a bite out of the savings, though. Where are you located, by the way?

I'm in Utah County. The last time I was at the Pick N Pull they didn't have any 6.5's in. Or is this a different place?

If you have the single thermostat, one off a 6.2 will fit.

car-part website. Pretty much a "You pull it" online.

Try out Pull-N-Save on SR201 (get off of the 7200 w exit, go right, then right immediately, and follow the frontage road for about 1/2 mile). You can see it from the 21st S freeway. Last time I was in, they had a NA 6.5 powered van in there.

Oh, wait, I just read in your sig line that you have a HO waterpump. Does that mean that you need the dual T-stat crossover?

I have a single T-stat crossover right now.

I am hoping to get a dual in the next few months, but as I mentioned on the other site, all of my money is going towards my son's chemotherapy, so money is excruciatingly tight right now.

Damned cancer. :(

I have a single one your welcome to if you want it don't know why I have not thrown it out over the past 2 years, its just sitting on my bench since I upgraded to the dual thermo unit. Whats your zip you can have it for shipping costs. On a side not I hope your kid is doing OK.

Thanks,
Charlie
