I am interested in anyones opinions on shocks (shockpinions):h ) based on experience. Particularly anyone who is high mileage and has tried a couple basic setups.

I have '02 dmax 2500HD 4x4 Crew Cab Short Bed with 90k miles. My truck is stock and I'm not looking for anything super fancy, but I figure that if I get under the truck I might as well put something in for a nice ride.

The characteristics I'm interested in are:

1) ride quality
2) ride quality
3) ease of installation - basic set of 4 for oem replacement
4) value
5) brand

Thanks.

i would go with the rancho 9000x's i had them on my 2500 and have them on my 3500 and they are great. 9 shock settings with the turn of a knob.my them as firm as you want or as stiff as you want.if you want to get really fancy they make an interior control box that you can install in the cab of your truck and adjust on the fly.my factory shocks on both trucks didnt last but 20000 before i started getting tire wear:thumb:

The going opinion here is go with Bilstein's or Rancho RS9000X's. Either one is a good shock.

I run Rancho's for the adjustability. If you don't want that, run the Bilstein's.

thanks. i think this topic has been beat to death on this forum, and after poring through some of the posts, it seems that it comes down to those 2 shocks. they both seem to be an easy bolt on. more importantly, is that people say that after they put them on, they wish they did it sooner.

thanks again.
