I tried to use the Accessory position as per the owners manual the other day. One click forward, yes I got Accessories, but I also got the dash warning lights, DIC Service 4WD light, A/C blower and control lights, etc. What happened to the old fashioned Radio, window controls Accessory Position?

Also, why doesn't the truck shut off in gear when turning the key towards yourself like in gassers? How would you shut down if stuck in gear and you needed to kill the engine?
Thanks,

sounds like you went 2 clicks forward with the key putting it in the run position.

I like to listen to the radio in mine while washing it or working in the garage. But when I turn the key forward to where it says 'accessory' I can hear something humming under the hood. I think it's the fuel injection control module. So I just leave the key off. I like the accessory position in the Tahoe. One click back towards you and it works fine.

No, 1-click SS, ditto LAR. Maybe I'll try 1/2 click. LOL

1/2 click might be just the ticket:D.
I have not encountered your other issue with the shutoff while in gear thing, but i am gonna try it, sounds pretty cool:eek: .

I just tried to shut off my dmax while in gear by turning the key, she shut right down. i couldn't get the key to come out however, and it would not go all the way to the off position while still in gear, but the motor deffinately turned off. I would take it in for a checkup if it was me.

Mine has two click levels of ignition. One and you get radio two and you get air and pre-start items. Fuses in the fuse box are also on different ignition levels. I checked quite a few when I recently added accesories to put add-a-circuits on ones I wanted.

I miss being able to turn the key backwards :(

My dic, etc. come on in accessory mode also. I just turn it to accessory and then turn it back to off. Radio will now stay on until timer turns it off. Then I just do it again. I agree with the others, I like the turn back mode like my escalade and other trucks have.
