Any tech's had this problem and figured it out?

I have a '98 chevy tahoe with the Vortec 350, 114k miles. Runs great 90% of the time and does everything is sposed to do.

I randomly get a no-start. Just cranks and cranks. No SES lights or codes thrown. I'll let it sit for a few minutes and its fine. It'll crank up like normal. Unfortuately I dont have the cash to start throwing parts at it.

Anyone have any ideas to at least steer me in the right direction?

Fuel pump maybe? Relay?
ECM Problem?
Ignition related?
Thanks for anything in advance. It is sincerely appreciated.

Does the security light flash when it won't start?

Do you have to wait 20 minutes before it will start again?

If so, sounds like passlock problems. Is there a remote start in it?

No, the wait is not 20 mintues. More like 3-5 mins. I am not sure if the security light is on though.. I will check it out when it does it again.

No remote start. A very stock vehicle:)

Thank You.

Do you have a fuel pressure gauge? Need to see if you are getting fuel pressure. Also check spark.

No I dont have a fuel press gauge that reads that high (50psi approx?). Problem is that by the time I get all that stuff hooked up and/or checked it starts again.

I just dont want the day to come when it doesnt in the middle of nowhere..

Thank You.

I am guessing that its a random no start? Or can it set a certain amount of time and you can get it to do it everytime like that?

Also, how old are your ignition wires, cap and rotor?

check the connection to the fuel pump module on top of the tank, make sure it does not show signs of overheating and the pins are tight, no black or overheating signs.

Thank you,

I'll give that a try.
