hello - and thanks for your time.
i have read the threads regarding injectors banging and am just looking for some additional information.
When i touch the injector lines when the truck is running i can fell a tink, tink, tink in the the lines - some lines are more noticeable then others. - i replaced motor less than 5k ago with a rebuild and had new injectors installed (marine style).
also had the timing set to -1.94

my question is - is it normal to have this tink, tink, tink in the lines ( some more noticeable than others?)

also - i seem to notice a bit more black smoke out the tailpipe going up hills etc...
is this normal with high output injectors or the timing being set to -1.94?
what do you suggest tdco be set to.

vehicle seems to run loud until it comes uo to temp and if i rev up the engine - similar to the "snap test" - it kicks out a pretty good size black cloud.

any suggestions?

thanks for your input

I have clear lines for both diesel/grease on my truck with two 10-14 psi lift pumps and they definitely put a pulse on the line. I would say this is normal - interesting that you could feel it through the metal line.

When I got my truck w/145K it barely smoked, but over time it has smoked a little more under load.
