I have an '04 with 25,000 I tow a 26' fifth wheel (and pull two ATV's or a jeep behind 5th wheel) every weekend in the summer. Mountains and flat. Tranny has never been hot. I change tranny filter every 10,000. Fluid looks and smells good right now.


Should I just drain and refill tranny or should I do a flush.
Do I need to replace internal filter.
I won't even ask about Syn Vs Dexron III

No internal filter change. IMO just drain the pan and refill. If your fluid is regularly over 175 or so then i would say try and get more out if your running regular dino. Thats what I would do.......

Edit: we do the pan drop method on the plow trucks once a year and it has worked for us pretty well. Plow trucks get the crap beat outa em too.
