If you have a shop who is good at it, it's not that expensive. If they have no Allison experience, it will cost $$$.

All the other costs he's gonna aquire when they F' up cause they dont really know what there doing...;)

Also, I am curious as to what other mods have been done to a\the truck from someone asking a question like this:

It's been my experience that I you just do the torque converter you will have issuses on the track, the trans needs to be set up by a good shop, not as simple as bolting it in and going, I know the hard way!:D

i'm not saying the torque converter is not a weak link but its not the weak link torque converter alone will help but its just going to move the weak link to the clutches, and on big power the next weak link wuld be the input/output shaft the power above that you'll move to the planetaries, in my opinion if the trans is coming out at a min do mike l's budget kit or a suncoast stage 3 above the cost of the converter your like an extra 800-900 bucks , if it were to ever fail again it would cost close to that just for the removal and reinstall
