Johnny Carson used to have a skit called "Carnac the Magnificent". In the skit he would hold an unopened letter to his head, then blurt out an answer. He would then open the envelope to see what the question was.

For some strange reason, this post reminds me of that skit. Somebody is going to come along and state just what the problem could be, and us less experenced will just be amazed.

when was the last time u changed the fuel filter...it might be a P0093 code...large fuel leak just caused by cracked fuel filter housing or o-ring cracked...sometimes when u have a bad fuel filter truck wont rev up

it's only been about 3k miles but the housing has been taking off while changing the head gaskets..... it could have just moved around a peice of trash and stopped it up??????

its a possibility....or it wasnt put back on tight so its sucking up air...i would try bleeding it alittle bit and then priming it until it gets rock hard and then try starting it and see if it still does it

ok i'll try that... it starts up fine it just won't rev up

could be worse byrdi..128kmiles..just had the dealer tell me i had a bad head gasket so 3 grand later i find out the 1st injector sleeve on the passenger side has "cavitated" causing coolant to leak by the sleeve and into the combustion chamber. So thanks to the dealer I got a set of head gaskets changed when what I really needed was a new head on the passenger side. So maybe after another 2400 hopefully they'll get it right this time. Still waiting on a new head from gm..could be another week or so. I'm running outta love for this thing about a grand at a time.

we have very similar luck... i was building up pressure on the coolant tank so i took it in for head gaskets sure enough they were bad put it all back together fired it up and it had a misfire on the 6th cylinder tore it back down replaced the injector put it back together filled it up with water and fired it up and it's leaking water into the oil... tore it back down to find that he had put the wrong head gaskets on... put it back together for the third time and now it runs great no leaks no problem but won't rev up

Man that blows about the head gaskets...I had to bring one of my old gaskets to the dealer for comparison before they would give me a new set because as I'm sure you now know there are three different possible versions that exist. You had any luck finding any codes? From what I've learned the engine has a "limp" mode that will stop it from reving up but even in that mode you can still get up to 2k on the tach. Still sounds electrical to me.

check the wire going to the regulator on the cp3

x3 on the injector sleeve and dealer crap. Glad Im not the ONLY one.

Sounds electrical to me.

Good luck.

CP3 is the injection pump. Located in the valley of the engine, belt driven. Look down in between the alternator and a/c compressor. Its deep, you may have to stand on front bumper to see it. Look closely down in the dark area, you will see the connection and the silver part of the Fuel Pressure Regulator. Make sure its connected. Take a flashlight and look, you will see better. Dont look behind wiring harness, but in front, down in the engine valley.

You really need to tell us the code.

;) A code scanner is a must and important tool to have in your tool box with today's vehicles figure out what going on.

I hate to guess :o: but it almost sounds like the foot peddle censer.
Good Luck

one bad injector wont hold you to an idle....r u getting any response from the pedal at all? if no it may be just a sensor. Have you checked all the pins on all your harness connections? the big harness connection above the driver side head is a pretty common place to have a pin get pushed out the back of the plug when they dont line up just right.

Hey thanks to all of you for all your helpful advice.... Well my mechanic removed the wiring harness off the engine and checked each and every single wire and found no problems at all... so he re installed the harness and she runs as good as new now.... FINALLY!!!!!!! He has had my truck for 5 1/2 weeks.... i've been going crazy without it

glad to see you got it fixed. I've had a problem or two trace back to that plug and sometimes all it needs is a re-connect.

Disconnect Each Wiring Connector And Inspect The Male End's Make Sure One Did Not Get Pushed Down When You Put It Together, You Might Disconnect The Batt And See If That Helps, It May Need To Idle For A Few Minutes To Get All Air Out Of Lines, Good Luck.

there was probably a chafed wire in the harnes were it runs right over the fuel injection control moduel. it will ground out a injecotr or multiple injectors at a time. thats were the code came from. it is hard to find the wire that is the cause but its probably there. i have seen it a ton of times. i always take the zip tie that holds that harnes to the fuel injection control modual and cut it off. it may not be the problem but it is worth looking at and catching it before it happens again.
