FOLKS, I HAVE A 1TON DODGE DIESEL 5 SPEED WITH 3RD GEAR PROBLEMS, NEW TRANS FLUID, CHECKED CLUTCH -ALL OKAY. 3RD GEAR WILL NOT MESH EXCEPT AT ALMOST IDLE WITH UNDER 5 MPH FORWARD SPEEDS, IT SEEMS OKAY AT A STOP GOING THROUGH THE GEARS WITH THE CLUTCH IN.......ANY IDEAS OR FOLKS THAT HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM. Common problem with the getrag 5 speeds of that era.

Call Haisley or Piers Diesel.

Are you overfilling the trans? You should be running it 1 liter more than 'full' for longevity.
Other than that i can't help you much, but IIRC There is a fix but it isn't cheap or easy.

It sounds kinda like the synchronizer is out, I have the same problem on my GMC. But until I can afford a tranny, I learned how to use it.
