I am in the process of installing the cat back system on a 2004.5 crew cab short bed with the lly. The 18" extension came with the system but I do not see where I would need it. Also the hanger that goes right in front of the muffler that goes to the oem rubber support does not fit right. Has anyone replaced the cat back system on their truck. Its about 8:20 pm central time and I would appreciate some feedback as quickly as possibe.
Thanks

Hi there,
I put a dual system in my 05 crew long bed and i had to use it. It goes before the muffler.
I have the short bed single system.

I have the same truck, system you do. It was an easy install. The clamp you are referring to fits well on my truck, but don't expect the bottom of the clamp to be "level" with the ground. The ends of the u-bolts point a little bit towards the passenger side of the truck. Overall fit is excellant, you will like it when you are done with it.

the extra peice is included for all wheel bases so its probably for the long bed. My old system I had two of those pipes left over since I have an ext cab short bed.

The 18" piece is for CC long beds only. You will not use this for your application. Sorry for the confusion.

I had the same confussion with my hangers, it would have been nice to have had some pictures and better instuctions. Sorting out the hangers seemed to be the hardest part with the whole installation. Also, put the front on jack stands and raise the rear about 5" off the ground and you can get the stock pipe out without cutting it.
We are upgrading some of our instructions for our diesel line. The new instructions will include detailed pictures of an actual install. This should help with your MBRPinc installs.
Thanks
