HVACDIESEL 03-14-2005, 08:20 PM GOT MY TRUCK BACK FROM DEALER THE OTHER DAY FROM THE DEALER FOR THE 3RD REAR AXLE SEAL ON THE RIGHT REAR,THEY ALSO FOUND A LEAK IN THE REAR AXLE AND REPLACED THE REAR PINION FLANGE AND SEALS.NOW IT SOUNDS LIKE WHEN IM DRIVING AND LET OFF THE THROTTLE I HEAR A WHINE.I THINK THEY WOULD SHOULD TEST DROVE AFTERWARDS,BUT BY THE MILEAGE THEY DIDNT!!:help2: GMCSID 03-14-2005, 08:46 PM Sounds like they might not have retightened the pinion nut correctly. There is a crush sleeve on the pinion and if it was crushed too much the diff will need to be disassembled. patrick 03-14-2005, 08:50 PM my guess is they over tightened the pinion. or even the outer axle hub assy. take it back....
