Could be miswired or could be a mad fingers stick.

It is wires correctly. It also is throwing code P0101 MAF not operating and P0102 MAF low voltage. By buddy has acess to a Tech 2 and we had it hooked up and it would throw code P0103 every time and the others intermittingly. I double checked the wires and every thing looks wired correctly. Some of the wires did break and I solders them back together. I'm lost and have no idea what is wrong. HELP!!!!!!

Fingers help!! Insalled stick two weeks ago with soldered connections, have approx 1500 miles working fine until today. Check engine came on four times today, each time the intervals were closer. Codes P0101 and 103, have been resetting with Predator. What do you suggest?

Thank You,
Woodman

Pull the Stick and send it back. I will replace/refund as you request. I have one other out there doing the same thing.

Hey Fingers just wanted to let you know that my stick was sent out by you on March 7. Maybe this will help you track down what is going wrong. I will try to get mine sent back to you today if I have time at work, but it will definitely be in the mail on Saturday.

Thanks
The other one!

hey fingers, i keep getting the P0103 code as well. i thought it was something with the air intake. maybe some moisture getting in the air box or something.

Your right, I forgot about that. I know some of the aftermarket air intakes and filters can mess up the MAF sensor. I don't own any, but my understanding is the K&N will deposit filter oil on the MAF and the AFE will do something similar. Both will cause 103 codes.

If these returned Sticks (only two) check out OK. Then it has to be something to do with the MAF sensor. Previous problems have not been Stick related but I want to make absolutely sure.

Woodman, are you running an aftermarket intake?

If you take the Stick off and still get 103's, it was not the Stick.

i do have the factory airbox with the mod of kennedy's. it does have the k&n air filter in it. I do get the codes when it is raining. the metallic tape on the fender wall, in front of the airbox, i cut out. this may be adding moisture to my intake. i never get an ses light so i don't really see it. i can clear it and it may return after awhile. i believe it is the conditions externally causing mine.

let me know what you find on the other 2. i will try to keep better tabs on when my 103 code comes around. this way we see if you find anything with the circuitry used at the time of manufacturing or if I find if there is some common time mine is throwing the code.

Yes I have had a k&n in the factory box for 9.000 miles and experienced the highest rainfall since the late 1880s. Still, no codes. At the time of the check light problems there wasnt any rain for almost two weeks. The temp range was mid to upper 70s, low humidity and there were dry vehicles in the morning. I removed the stick and plate; no codes yet.

There were a few people getting codes from the filter oil getting on the MAF sensor. This could happen at any time. First reaction was to blame the Stick.

The two sticks I have recalled were both made within a short time of each other. I don't know if they are bad or not. The symptoms do not fit the MO for previous filter failures. I will test the returned Sticks and see.

The problem is not with the stick. You can return it for a refund if you would like.

I will expand more on what I have found out so far when I have a chance to collect all of my information.

FWIW. ~300 sticks out there and only one bad.

Is there anything else I can try. I want the stick to work. I do not have a California Truck.

The P0101 and P0103 can be caused by several things. If you get the code as soon as you put the stick on, I would guess either a bad connection OR the intake tube is leaking. This has happened several times to people who have installed the Stick since they end up removing the intake tube to install the stick.

The two I called back went bad after a working for a while. One and only one tested bad. I still don't know what the deal is with the other..
