Every other oil change here and that would be @ 12K miles then. They want to bend you over if you know what I mean!

Go to your local Allsion service center and pick up a few at about $9.00 a piece. Then, change it about every 5,000 miles. That's the current wisdom from the transmission guru's here on the forum.

I picked up 6 filters for $56.00 (including tax), from the Allsion regional service center near me.

Yup, first filter/fluid change at 7500, but its not every 7500 after that. I know it was in one of the Allison training deals, but cant say that I have looked for it in any of the manuals

GM and Allison recommend an initial 5k mi spin on filter change, then fluid and filter change every 25k and every 50k w/Transynd.

If you just want to change the filter, just take the old one off, remove the magnet on top, put the magnet on the new filter, put in a couple of oz's of Dex III or synth fluid of your choice, then spin on the new filter.

I wasn't clear on what I change every 5,000 miles.

I had the tranny flushed at 5,000 miles and had Transynd put back in, with a new filter of course.
