: Bluetooth through Nav - Group Buy?
rcpd34 10-07-2008, 04:06 AM Anyone interested in going in on a group buy on this?
http://www.scosche.com/bluefusion
It just got released and is already on backorder. Price is $399 + $25 for the harness + $15 for freight. I'd like to get a bunch of people together and try to reduce the price through a group buy. Any interest?

If I had to guess it's only for the 900.
jeepj10jim 10-08-2008, 12:55 AM x2 on the 800. If it will work then yes. If only NBS, then cant use it.
Nor-Cal Audio 10-08-2008, 01:38 AM The Blue Fusion works great, we have them in stock at NCT.

Nor-Cal Nick 10-08-2008, 05:46 PM How much are they?
Not sure myself....Jeriah (Nor-Cal Audio) does all the audio product here. I will see what i can do if a few people want to join in on a puchase:)
jeepj10jim 10-08-2008, 06:39 PM Nick and Jeriah, Sounds good IF it works on the 800 series. Thanks
Nor-Cal Nick 10-08-2008, 06:57 PM Does it have touch screen?
Starlifter 10-08-2008, 11:12 PM I have a non-Bose touch screen out of a 2005 Buick Rendezvous in my truck. I would be interested in getting in on this purchase as well provided the unit is compatible with my system. Please let me know the status. Thanks.
heymccall 10-09-2008, 01:12 AM Page 5 here for applications http://www.ltmelectronics.com/main/media/prod_docs/BFGM_Application_Guide.pdf
And if you read the fine print on the Scosche website, it works with both GMLAN and class II databus;).
Just remember that this unit enters the radio through the XM input, therefore the Radio itself must be Satellite radio ready to be compatible.
rcpd34 10-09-2008, 01:22 AM Thanks for the info! According to the link, the GMT-800 Nav' will work!
offtohavasu 10-09-2008, 01:18 PM Count me in for any group rate!
Nor-Cal Nick 10-09-2008, 02:20 PM Jeriah installed mine and I used it last night on the way home. Worked great. Everyone said I sounded fine and no extra noise. For some reason my wife asked why I kept driving around the block and didn't pull into the drive way and I said I was testing something:D

rcpd34 10-09-2008, 09:32 PM Ok; I'm working out the details now. Whoever is interested in the group buy, please send me an e-mail to rcpd34@comcast.net. I will start a list and we'll see how many people actually pony up. We'll need at least five to get any discount at all. Payment can be check (must clear before order is placed). I am willing to accept PayPal or even credit cards direct through my company as long as you are willing to pay the fee which is like 2-3%. Feel free to mention this to folks on other boards; the more the merrier!

Count me in for two, BUT, I'd like to buy from someone on here, like Norcal Audio. $440 OTD just seems a little high. From what I've read, I'm thinking of a number between $350 and $350, plus shipping.
I need to replace a dead HF1000 motorola kit in the bosses 'slade, and I've got a parrot 3100 in one of the 2500s that doesn't always latch the audio to the speakers. I believe I need to install a relay, otherwise it's the conversion harness goin' south. I'll use that 3100 elsewhere.
As for reviews on the product, on the cadillac forum, the results are around 80% satisfied. There were issued listed such as phonebook compatibilty and microphone volume adjustment. I've got my fingers crossed that it doesn't have the anomalies and glitches I've read about in thee lockpick threads. And, besides, I don't need an IPod adapter.
rcpd34 10-14-2008, 10:05 PM PM's not working. Please e-mail me at rcpd34@comcast.net.
Thanks,
Brian

let me know where you saw it for $350, was that with the harness? thats a real good deal. if you don't need the i pod adaptor, you don't have to buy it. I was trying to put a package together for DP members(to keep things easy) i will sell the units separately at $ 380. This is a new product with the msrp set at $399. so we are still trying to set a price that works with the market for the unit. if im not close yet let me know.

PM sent.....
Fleabay $349 + $9.99 shipping
The second link I sent shows it for $289, but I'm not feeling good about it being reputable from that site.
rcpd34 10-16-2008, 12:01 AM Ok, here is the deal. $350 for the BlueFusion unit and $20 for the GM Harness. A very few vehicles may require an extended harness. I will have more info on which vehicles and why and how much later in the week. If there is an interest in the iPod adapter I will get a price for that as well. S&H will be a flat $15 for UPS Ground or FedEx Ground CONUS. These will ship from the manufacturer by the end of the month and should be in stock the first week of November. The Honda and Toyota harnesses should be available by the end of the year for those of you who are interested. (I'm sure my wife will want one in her Odyssey). I have 5 interested so far. Anyone else, Please e-mail me at rcpd34@comcast.net and I will add you to the list. I'd like payment by the last week of October so I can get everything together and have everything cleared by the time we order. If we can get 10 units I believe we can get a better price. As mentioned, I will take a check, USPS Money Order, PayPal or Credit Cards direct. However, if you use the last two, please add 3% to cover costs. I can be reached at 301-370-8883.
Thanks,
Brian

I only mentioned the Ipod adapter because you can't have Bluefusion and an Ipod connected to the same radio. They both use the XM port. And, you may wanna shoot a PM to Norcal Audio;).
And the Fleabay one is $360 OTD, no tax and a 100% seller rating.
OIL99 10-16-2008, 11:04 AM Is the ipod adapter like a FM transmitter (except bluetooth) and not connected via a cable?
offtohavasu 10-16-2008, 11:35 AM I would imagine you can use another I-Pod adapter like PAC if it goes through the CD Changer port and not XM. But I could be wrong. It has been known to happen on occasion.
rcpd34 10-16-2008, 01:17 PM If one desires an iPod adapter, I would recommend getting the one known to be compatible with the BlueFusion.
Nor-Cal Audio 10-16-2008, 07:41 PM if you allready have an i pod adaptor it will still work, the draw back is that if you are listening to the i pod and get a call it will not come through. your phone will ring but the music will not be interrupted and the call can't be answered with out switching from i pod to blue fusion mode. the apod adaptor will not charge an i pod it is a wireless piece.
Here is Nor Cal Truck's deal; $350. for the BFGM (blue fusion) harness included, plus tax and shipping. They are in stock and can ship immediatley. The i pod adaptor is $75. also in stock. Keep in mind you are dealing directly with the dealer here, no third party. No warranty issues, no added credit card fee's. If interested please pm or e mail

Conedoctor 10-19-2008, 11:13 PM Really looking forward to some reviews on this from real people, it should also work just fine on non nav radios as well.
Supa Dexta 10-19-2008, 11:58 PM Are you DSM conedoctor?
Conedoctor 10-20-2008, 10:49 AM The one and only!
Just bought an 05 LLY CC/SB
rcpd34 10-25-2008, 06:03 AM I'm ready to place an order. If we get 10 orders the price drops to $299! The GM harness is $20. The iPod adapter is $75 and s&h is a flat $15 CONUS. Please e-mail me direct at rcpd34@comcast.net to arrange payment. If we don't get 10 it's $350. Thanks!

rcpd34 10-28-2008, 03:44 PM Will this work on the non-nav Bose radio? Anybody actually try it out yet??
Yes, it will. It just takes a non-XM harness I'm told.
Nor-Cal Audio 10-29-2008, 12:19 AM I have installed and used a hand full of them and am very impressed with the unit. I think it is the closest you can get to an oem piece. the calls come through nice and clear.
emilm 10-29-2008, 11:22 AM This looks like a great device (I am currently using a Verizon phone number dedicated to the truck) - since I am new to LMMs, how difficult is this to install?

It's supposed to be plug & play.

When Jeriah installed mine the nice little thing I found was that when a call is picked up you have the volume at what sounds good witch might be high and then when it drops the call and goes back to music the volume goes back to what you had the music at. Just me but I liked that:).

I am such a newbie - I have no idea even how to remove the current head unit! :-(

very simple, it takes longer to run the mic wire than it does to hook up. flip down the glove box, unplug the harness going into your xm controller, plug one end of the bfgm harness into controller the other end into the factory harness. zip tie or velcro the brain up out of the way behind glove box and run the mic wire to your desired location.

As long as the radio is SAT ready it will work. Every one I've ever had has been SAT ready. Anyone know any different?
heymccall 12-04-2008, 06:51 PM I'm glad I bought my two from someplace reputable. You guys may wanna find another solution. I am extremely disappointed in these units.
Unit #1 out of the box....Will not properly select correct source when recieving a call. Continues to scroll sources until it settles in on anything but XM, which of course is where it needs to be.
Unit #2.... Plugged into exact same harness and powered truck, only to watch smoke roll out of the box.
Plugged #1 back in after their techline had me disassemble it and "reseat" the boards together. No joy, as it still wouldn't grab the right source.
Other noteworthy problems are....
Phonebook and caller ID are number only. (I have over 350 numbers in my phonebook).
Two buttons and a knob are the only way to operate the unit. (If you are dumb enough to use the touchscreen, the source will switch and your call goes on hold. To get it back, select XM).
Audio quality through the trucks speakers was nowhere near as good as the parrot kits I have.
When choosing functions (voice dial, missed calls, etc), there is another option that isn't needed everyday (mic volume).
Scrolling can only be done with the knob on the headunit.
Simply selecting XM isn't how you get it to turn on. (You have to hold SEEK BACK for two seconds. If you just bump it, only XM stations change.)
I'm gonna hope the replacement units are better. Cross your fingers.
rcpd34 12-04-2008, 09:14 PM I'm very sorry and disapointed to hear about this. You're the second one I've heard of having issues. Please keep us posted.
