Thanks to others for their input. I completed the install Saturday.

The tank is a 48 Gallon RDS tank that meets FHWA requirements. Pump activated with both electric and manual shutoff points.

Here are the pictures.

Do you know if you can get a locking cap for the tank?

That's the kind of setup I've been looking for, thanks for the pics.

The gas cap is a standard gas cap so you can probably find a locking one.

I'm interested in this setup but couldn't get the link to open. I wondered if anyone got the link to work.

Look in the catalog on the RDS site. They have one tank there and then the sizes of several others. The one that I bought is described on page 18 as a 46 gallon tank....it is actaully now a 48 Gallon tank. Part number 70387.

Nice job on the pics!! so how long before you buy a $1000.00 NASCAR fuel pump that transfers all 48 gallons in under a minute? HAHAHAHAHA You know how it is once you start you can't stop!!! I'll give you 3 months, give or take a few days. Good luck with that.

How do you know when to shut off the pump? Do you just watch the fuel gauge and shut it off when it reads close to full?

But you better dust off those Benjamins when you do stop for diesel.

i have almost the same set up but what i did was add a fuel selenoid that turns on and off with the pump for 26.00 so i would not have to get out of the truck to turn a valve.
